MAKE: Potted Plants Embroidery

I have been loving my plants lately and after doodling these sweet little potted plants on a piece of paper I decided that I need to do an embroidery of them.

These are my little plants. I used back stitch, seed stitch, and french knots in this embroidery piece. These potted plants are my little bit of sunshine hanging on the wall.

I have taken to using scrap fabric for the backdrop for any of my embroidery pieces. It's nice to be able to use up smaller pieces of fabric in a way that is still very functional. If you have any canvas or cotton scraps I would definitely suggest using those bits first before going out and buying any for backdrops. You can also repurpose old t-shirts or use old denim. Get super creative by choosing a background that contrasts with your embroidery thread.

Embroidery is the best travel project. I have a little bag that I put all my threads, my needle and scissors in. With me is my travel buddy Finnegan of @finneganswonderland :)
